Having studied Accounting and Law at University, Ian’s career has been more about the numbers and the commercial side of businesses. Through working at different sized businesses, from SME up to multi-billion dollar US owned corporations, he’s acquired a wealth of experience across many sectors, manufacturing, engineering, service sector and financial services. For Ian however, the key takeaway was the realisation that all business is about people. One business had a slogan on presentations; “Numbers people. People Numbers”. That stuck with me. He’s also worked within the Virgin group and seen first-hand the power of empowering people to do their jobs to deliver exceptional service to the customer.
Having joined the CDI World group in 2020 as Financial and Commercial Executive, Ian took on the Managing Director role in 2022 with a vision to cement the CDI World capabilities within Europe through the development of a powerful network of partners and drive efficiencies following a couple of difficult years for the Exhibition Industry. For Ian though the most important element of the role is to be surrounded by a very capable group of individuals who all pull together as a team to deliver outstanding projects for our customers.
