After nearly 13 years as Senior Project Manager and Lead Estimator at CDI World USA, this month Dennis Richardson retires!
Having devoted 36 years of his life to the trade show industry, it is fair to say that Dennis is a go-to source of information, and his wealth of industry anecdotes keeps the team constantly entertained; there are few things that he hasn’t seen or done during his working life!
Dennis’ career started with a degree in Tech Theatre and spent 16 years as a technical director and free lance carpenter in the film industry, then moved onto a successful quarter century in trade show management working for industry leaders such as Czarnowski, Giltspur, Freeman, Shepard services, Mc-2 and Expo Services. CDI World USA were thrilled to welcome Dennis to our team in January of 2010, where he quickly became a much-valued and respected member of “the family”.
The secret to a successful career, according to Dennis, is a lot of patience, communication, and the ability to roll with the good days and the bad and take everything in your stride.
As far as plans are concerned, Dennis plans to have no plans, and just do what he wants and needs to do, when he wants to, without any pressure. However, the trade show industry is much like the Hotel California; although he has, technically, left CDI world, he will continue to take on freelance contracts and fulfil short term project opportunities.
