How Big Green Egg’s New Trade Show Booth Brought the Backyard Indoors

There’s something special about the sizzle of food on a grill. That distinctive aroma that makes everyone’s mouth water. The warmth of gathering around outdoor cooking. Big Green Egg wanted to capture all of this — right in the middle of a trade show booth.

Big Green Eggs existing booth wasn’t cutting it anymore. They came to us with a vision: recreate that perfect backyard grilling experience, but make it work in spaces from 20×20 to 30×20, and build it tough enough to handle six shows a year. Oh, and it needed to stop people in their tracks.

We love this kind of challenge at CDI World (check out our case studies..). Rather than just designing another trade show booth, we set out to build an experience. Think about your dream deck setup — that’s what we were after. Natural textures that make you want to reach out and touch them. Lighting that feels like late afternoon sunshine. And of course, plenty of space for Big Green Egg’s showstopping grills to take center stage.

The secret sauce? A modular design that lets the Big Green Egg team adapt their space without compromising on impact. We added a removable backlit wall that transforms the booth from intimate to open-concept in minutes. Because sometimes you need to work with what the show gives you, but that doesn’t mean sacrificing style.

When it came to materials, we didn’t cut corners. Trade show booths take a beating — they’re assembled and dismantled repeatedly, shipped across the country, and need to look perfect every single time. We chose materials and finishes that would look as good at show number six as they did on day one.

The real test came at the booth’s debut. You know that moment when you’re holding your breath, waiting to see how people react? We needn’t have worried. The booth drew crowds like a perfectly grilled steak draws hungry neighbors. But more than that, it just worked. The Big Green Egg team could move around effortlessly, demonstrating their products and connecting with visitors. Their marketing team finally had the perfect stage for their brand story.
